Zemurray Park is a nice place with a beautiful and soothing atmosphere in the bosom of nature, where you can stroll or jog along the trails, picnic in the shade of trees, play sports games, skate, have a workout in the fresh air, play with your kids, or fish in the pond. This is a clean, beautiful, and quiet place.

With free entrance and such a variety of opportunities for outdoor recreation, this park is just perfect for a quick getaway from the city stresses, and it doesn’t matter whether you travel alone or with your family – Zemurray Park offers relaxation and entertainment for visitors of all ages.

Location And Access

Zemurray Park is located at 400 South Oak Street in Hammond, Louisiana, and features easy access. There is free parking available, and you don’t have to pay for entrance. The park is conveniently located within the city limits, so many cafes, restaurants, and shops are all within walking distance.

Facilities

The park features no stationary public restrooms, but there are porta-potties, which is better than nothing. There are vendors, where you can buy some snacks. Apart from that, there are numerous facilities for outdoor recreation, including various sports grounds, a play area for children, a little water park, a workout area, and a dog park.

Pond

There is a nice pond, which stretches throughout the park. Here, you can watch the ducks swimming and diving or enjoy some free fishing. There are dedicated fishing areas, and the pond is stocked with catfish twice a year and rainbow trout once in winter. Fishing in the park is free.

Sport Opportunities

It’s a great idea to arrive early in the morning for a workout when it’s cool and the park is uncrowded. In the front area of the park, there is some outdoor workout equipment. Jogging along the paths in the shade of trees is another good option for sports enthusiasts. There is also a baseball field, basketball court, tennis court, and a skate park.

Fun For Kids

If you have kids, you should bring them with you – Zemurray Park is very kid-friendly. There is a nice modern playground for children as well as a fenced water play area, where the little ones can safely play the water.

Dog Policies

There is a nice fenced off-leash dog park, where dog owners can walk and play freely with their furry friends. It’s maintained by a local community group.
