Named after one of Cocoa Beach mayors, the 10-acre oceanfront Sidney Fischer Park is a perfect place for a family picnic and a relaxing beach day on the Atlantic shore. The park is equipped with all necessary facilities including a convenient parking lot, restrooms, outdoor showers, shaded picnic areas, and pavilions. There are plenty of trees and is a huge grassy area with a children’s playground.
Location and Access
Located at 2200 North Atlantic Avenue in Cocoa Beach, Sidney Fischer Park is open for visitors from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The park features a newly paved parking lot with approximately 200 parking spaces. Here, you can park your car or recreational vehicle for $15 per day (overnight parking and buses are not permitted). You can also choose payment per hour, which is $2.50.
The park and beach are ADA accessible. This is a public recreational area, so you don’t have to pay an entrance fee.
Available Facilities
There are really clean and well-stocked public restrooms available – however, they need better ventilation. You can use the outdoor showers to rinse the sand off your feet and body.
For those who love picnics, there are some covered picnic tables. The park boasts a good location in close proximity to stores, restaurants, and bars. If you bring children, they will be happy to discover the park’s playground.
Beach Access
The beach is located within a short walking distance from the park. The sand is very clean and the water is amazing! However, you may encounter large patches of seaweed when swimming – be prepared for that. There are professional lifeguards on duty, which makes swimming in the Atlantic way safer.

Once you get tired of lying in the sun or splashing in the water, you can stroll around the park and beach and enjoy nature and the scenic views. There are some shells in the sand to collect. You can spot some beautiful birds in the trees. There are also various fish species and local fishermen are frequent visitors here.
