Lori Wilson Park is a scenic seaside park in the heart of Cocoa Beach equipped with all necessary amenities and allowing its visitors to comfortably spend a couple of hours or the whole day on the shore of the Atlantic ocean.
The place is perfect for a family get-together or romantic beachside picnic. If you want to hang out with your friends and have a couple of beers, you can also do that in designated areas of the park so that you won’t disturb other visitors.
Location and Access
You can find Lori Wilson Park at the following address: 1500 North Atlantic Avenue, Cocoa Beach, Florida. The park open hours are from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. There is no entrance fee.
Better still, there is no parking fee either. There are two parking lots located on the north and south sides of the hammock. However, parking is limited and fills up quickly so it’s better to arrive early to get a space without problems.
Park Facilities
The park facilities include everything to make your stay comfortable, namely public restrooms, outdoor showers, picnic areas with barbecue grills and tables, food vendors, water fountains, several pavilions, and a nice grassy area. There are six dune crossovers and a 1,000-foot boardwalk where you can take a relaxing nature walk among the beautiful tropical greenery and watch local birds.
There is a children’s playground to keep the little ones busy for a while. If you are a sports enthusiast, you’ll be happy to know the park has a sand volleyball court. Finally, there is a dog park for those who like to travel with their four-legged friends. Truly, a place for the whole family!
Swimming Conditions
Lori Wilson Park Beach features clean, soft, latte-hued sand, which is great for barefoot walks. A refreshing dip in the Atlantic is going to be very enjoyable on a hot summer day in Florida.
The beach is shallow and the waves roll out a long way. Since the surf is usually small and consistent, this is a good place for beginning surfers and for kids who will gladly play in the waves. If you don’t have your own surfboards, you can rent those on site.
There are also reasonably priced chair and umbrella rentals. The beach has full-time professional lifeguards to make your recreation as safe as possible.
Dog Policies
If you want to bring your pet, you should be aware that dogs are allowed only at the Dog Park but not in the other park areas (including the beach).
