Seaside Park features one of the most beautiful and convenient beaches on Amelia Island. It boasts easy access, well-maintained amenities, and scenic views. Most of the time, the beach is not crowded. It is spacious and offers enough seclusion for each visitor.
Location and Access
Seaside Park is located at 2000 South Fletcher Avenue in Fernandina Beach, Florida. It is close to numerous hotels and eating places.
Parking near the beach is limited so you should arrive early to get a space for your vehicle in high season. There is another parking lot about a half-block away, where you can park your car and then walk to the beach on foot, which is going to be a quick and easy walk.
You can also drive directly onto the beach, which is rather convenient. However, don’t risk doing it if you do not have 4WD – each day you can see some unlucky driver get stuck in the sand.
Facilities
There is a tourist service area at the end of Sadler Road where you can make use of public restrooms. If you’re looking forward to having lunch with your family or friends in a natural surrounding, bring some food – there are covered picnic tables where you can have a picnic. They seldom get busy.
In case you haven’t taken any snacks, don’t worry – there is a restaurant, bar, and concession stand on site. There are also covered boardwalks for strolling in the shade. With all the amenities, it’s easy to spend a whole day here.
Beach Access
Seaside Park Beach features wide sand areas where everybody can find a good relaxation spot. The sand is soft and sugary, with a lot of shells. You can rent sunbeds and umbrellas just across the street and the friendly staff will even set them up for you.
The blue ocean is warm and inviting. The depth increases gradually, which is good for children and weak swimmers. Moreover, there are lifeguards on duty so you can feel quite safe in the water.
Beautiful Ambiance
Seaside Park Beach is a nice place to bring your nearest and dearest to, spend time together and enjoy the scenery – many people come here just to walk or sit and watch the ocean and boats passing by. If you happen to be here in the evening, don’t miss a picturesque sunset!
Shelling is another popular activity since the beach has plenty of shells and some of them are pretty big. If you’re patient enough, you’ll get a chance to spot a gopher tortoise in the protected dune. Take your time, explore the beach, enjoy the scenic views, listen to the seagulls and the waves – it’s a perfect place to just relax and enjoy life!
