Located off Folly Field Road on Hilton Head Island, Islanders Beach Park is a great place to bring your family and friends! It boasts convenient beach access, seasonal lifeguards, clean restroom and shower facilities, and a nice picnic area.
The atmosphere on the beach is very inviting and relaxing. The beach is really quiet in the morning but gets more crowded during the day. Weekends are busier compared to weekdays but still not overcrowded.
Location and Access
Located at 94 Folly Field Road, Islanders Beach Park is only accessible to beach parking pass holders. If you’re not one of those, you should choose another beach location to visit. Also, be aware that the parking lot at Islanders Beach Park is closed once it reaches capacity. If you go by bicycle, there are numerous bike racks where you can leave your bike.
The park is open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily during the tourist season and from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily in winter. With a boardwalk bridge and matting on the sand, the beach is wheelchair accessible.
Amenities
Islanders Beach Park is equipped will all necessary amenities including separate restrooms for men and women, outdoor showers, and a water fountain. There are no beach restaurants so bring your own food.
If you like picnics, there is a sheltered picnic pavilion with tables and benches. Grills are also provided. If you have kids, they will be happy to explore the park’s large playground area.
Beach
The beach is located behind a well-preserved dune line. The sand is white, soft, and has plenty of shells. During low tide, the beach gets very wide and there is more than enough room for all the families who like coming here. There are beach chair and umbrella rentals.
The water is clean and warm; the waves usually don’t get very big. Beware of nettle jellyfish. There are lifeguards on duty during the tourist season.
