The Reach Resort Beach

A Waldorf Astoria Resort, the Reach Resort is located on the only natural sand beach in Key West. Here, you can spend your days swimming, sunbathing, going to the gym, kayaking, jet-skiing, and paddle-boarding.

Location and Access

The resort boasts exceptional location, combining scenic ocean views and close proximity to major attractions of Old Town Key West. It’s about 150 miles from Miami and 2 miles from Key West International Airport. The detailed address is 1435 Simonton Street, Key West, Florida. The resort offers no self-parking; the valet parking costs $35.

Available Facilities

In addition to a private beach, the resort has a swimming pool with cabanas. Guests can enjoy a meal and drink at the resort’s signature restaurant from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

If you want to get some souvenirs, there is no need to look for them around the city – you can buy them in a gift shop on-site. Sports enthusiasts can always power up at the resort’s well-equipped fitness center. There are also indoor and outdoor venues for meetings and other events.

Beach Access

This is the only natural sandy beach available in the area. There are sunbeds and umbrellas to relax in the shade near the ocean. There is a pier with a pavilion for a small company that extends over the turquoise waters.

If you are looking for more active recreation, you can rent equipment for kayaking, paddle-boarding, and jet-skiing on-site. Unfortunately, swimming at the beach is far from great because there is often a lot of seaweed that blocks the way in the water and smells. The bottom is also quite rocky, so water shoes are recommended.

Once you get tired of sunbathing and swimming at the resort’s private beach, you can visit some of the local places of interest, including Duval Street, Ernest Hemingway House, Mel Fisher Museum, Butterfly Museum, or the Harry S. Truman Little White House.
