A great secluded sandy beach in Cameron Parish close to Holly Beach (aka Cajun Riviera). There aren't a lot of people around so it is really quiet. Great for walks, birding, fishing, shelling, or just plain relaxing in the sun. There are no-swimming signs, due to bacteria levels. Not a lot of people know about this place so don't be surprised by not seeing a ton of tourists.
You can drive your car right on the beach, but respect the speed limit (10).
There are no markets nearby (the nearest grocery store is in Holly Beach), so bring snacks.
If you are into birding, there's a place called Peveto Woods Bird and Butterfly Sanctuary nearby. It is a wooded area inhabited by rare migratory birds. The trails are beautiful and peaceful. The beach itself is situated along the Creole Nature Trail (see the video below for details about it).
Places to stay
There's no lodging on the beach (at least, we weren't able to find any), so the closest rooms you can rent are located in Port Arthur or in Cameron.
Port Arthur offers plenty of options with good reviews, for example, Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham (breakfast included) or the Suburban Extended Stay Hotel.
Lodging options in Cameron are limited, in fact, we were able to find only one motel (called "Cameron Motel"), but we didn't have enough time so we couldn't visit it.
If you have a hotel recommendation be sure to send us a message!
