About this beach

Warnings and hazards

No alcohol is allowed.

Located at the northern end of Hollywood, this calm and scenic 56-acre park offers an expansive 1.1-mile stretch of the Atlantic Ocean beach on one side and beautiful views of the Intracoastal Waterway on the other. This section of the beach isn’t overcrowded and there are many palm trees for shade just several steps away. There are also nice shaded picnic spots at various locations. This park and beach are more quiet and peaceful than, for instance, Fort Lauderdale Beach.

Location and Access

You can find Hollywood North Beach Park at 3601 North Ocean Drive, Hollywood, Florida. It’s the intersection of Sheridan Street and A1A. The park is open from 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. daily.

There is a parking lot right next to the boardwalk that always has spaces available. Parking is $10 for all day during the park open hours.

Park Facilities

The park has clean restrooms and outdoor showers. If you get hungry, you can go eat in the café on-site or have a picnic in the designated area with picnic shelters, tables, and charcoal grills. There is also a food vendor. If you go with kids, they’ll be happy to discover the playground.

Swimming Conditions

This isn’t a white-sand beach but it’s clean and kids can safely play in the sand and build sandcastles. At low tide, you can also find plenty of shells and coral pieces. The water is emerald-colored and so clear you can see small fish swimming by. The seafloor is soft rippled sand without rocks or hard surfaces – just fantastic! You don’t have to worry that you or your children will hurt their feet. There are lifeguard stations with lifeguards on duty.

Other Activities

Hollywood North Beach Park has sea turtle exhibits. There is a long, wide, paved walkway for pedestrians and bikers stretching along the beach where you can jog or stroll while enjoying the gorgeous view of the beach and ocean. There are also fishing piers and an observation tower where you can take some awesome snaps.
