In addition to beach access, lifeguard station, restroom and shower facilities, and oceanfront dining, Edwin S. Taylor Folly Beach Pier offers scenic views and some of the best saltwater fishing in the area. Stretching 1,045 feet into the ocean, it is the second-longest pier on the east coast. It’s a great place for families as well as individual visitors!

On-site Facilities
The beach is equipped with all necessary facilities including accessible restrooms, beach showers, chair and umbrella rentals. If you feel hungry, there is Pier 101 Restaurant and Bar with oceanfront views.
Sand and Water
The sand is fine, somewhat gray in color, well kept, clean, and with plenty of shells to pick up. The ocean is warm and peaceful, good for swimming throughout most of the year.
From June 6 to August 14, lifeguards are on duty every day. During the last week of May and the second half of August, they work on weekends only. At other times, there are no lifeguards at the beach and swimming is at your own risk.
Fishing
Folly Beach Pier is a popular place among fishermen. The fishing fee is $5 for adults and $3 for children (12 and under) and seniors. If you forgot your rod, don’t worry – there are rod rentals and you can rent one for the full day for $10 (plus $25 deposit).
There are also fishing tournaments taking place on certain days in summer. No preregistration is required, you can just arrive and pay the admission fee of $10 for adults or $8 for youth and seniors.
