Location and Access
Siesta Key Beach is a public beach, so entrance is free. Parking is also free, but due to the number of people visiting, it’s often hard to find a parking space, so it’s better to go early in the morning. You can find the beach at 948 Beach Road in Siesta Key, Florida.
There is a number of amenities between the parking lot and the beach including clean restrooms, washrooms, shaded picnic tables, some barbecue grills, and a play area for kids. Sand and Water
The sand is fantastic! Fine, quartz-white, extremely soft to the touch, and very hard-packed – good for walking, running, or doing yoga. Even on a hot day, it stays relatively cool. There is plenty of seashells, so you can find something to add to your collection.
The water is so clear you can see fish swim by. The surf is calm and the water is very shallow, with a gradual slope, which is convenient for kids. Nature lovers will enjoy the beach’s fauna. You can see fish jump from the water. There is a good chance to spot dolphins in the distance, manatees, and various kinds of sea birds such as seagulls, cranes, and plentiful pelicans.
Siesta Key Beach is a perfect place to watch sunsets. These waters are great not only for swimming, but also for snorkeling, kayaking, and paddle boarding. There are watersport rentals on site.
Officially, dogs are not allowed on the beach; however, you can see visitors break this rule quite often.
