Lake Conroe was created on the San Jacinto River in 1973 as an alternative water source for the City of Houston. Location And Access
Lake Conroe is located very close to Houston – it’s just a one-hour drive north from downtown Houston via IH-45. The area is well-developed and has a lot of businesses, including restaurants, gas stations, grocery stores, etc.
