Juno Beach Park features a 300-foot stretch of beach with lifeguards and a beautiful long pier for fishing. The place is quite popular but rarely gets overcrowded and there are enough parking spaces for everybody.
Location and Access
Juno Beach Park is located at 14775 U.S. Highway 1 in Juno Beach, Florida. It’s open from sunrise to sundown. The entrance is free of charge. There is plenty of parking across the street, which is free as well.
Amenities
Apart from parking, the park provides restroom facilities, outdoor showers to rinse the seawater off, and picnic shelters with cooking areas and tables. There is a playground with a climbing structure and a slide for kids. Sports enthusiasts will be happy to discover beach volleyball courts on site.
If you get hungry, there is a snack bar to alleviate your hunger. Although the town is small, it also has several places to eat not far from the beach.
Swimming Conditions
The park has a beautiful white-sand beach. The sand is extremely fine and soft; the water is blue, clean, and clear. If you’re a weak swimmer, be careful – some areas drop deep quite close to the shore. Water shoes are recommended since the bottom is quite rocky. There are lifeguards on duty watching the swimmers in the designated swimming areas.
Wildlife
Apart from the direct path to the beach, there is a paved nature trail with a shorter route running through the trees and a longer route running across the dune. In the thick greenery of Florida’s exotic plants, one feels like in a jungle. In the woods, you can see animals and insects like land tortoises and spiders.
Other Activities
If you have Florida’s fishing license, you’re welcome to cast a rod and try your skills. Fishing is permitted from the pier and prohibited in the designated swimming areas. Entering the pier is charged $1. Many visitors engage in sports activities including beach volleyball, kite surfing, windsurfing, bodysurfing. There are kayaks for rent.
Dog Policies
There is a dog beach just a short walk north (to the left of the fishing pier). Feel free to bring your pet there, or you can visit just to watch other people’s dogs having a blast in the surf.
