Located in a serene green-canopied area near the ocean, Atlantic Dunes Park is a place of choice for those looking for a quiet and relaxing nature spot at the seaside.

Atlantic Dunes Park offers a variety of outdoor recreational activities including picnicking, sunbathing, swimming, strolling, biking, and birdwatching. It’s one of the best beaches in Delray and a lovely place to hang out with your friends or spend a day with your family.

Location and Access

The park is located a block north of Linton Boulevard at 1605 South Ocean Boulevard in Delray Beach – which is just a couple miles down from the downtown area – and can be easily reached by car.

There is a spacious (more than 120 spaces) parking lot across the street and it’s open from sunrise till sundown. Parking is metered. Handicapped parking is also available. The park is open from 8 a.m. to dusk.

Facilities

The park facilities include metered parking, public restrooms, rinse showers, changing rooms, picnic tables, a pavilion, a boardwalk, and an observation platform. If you want to reserve a pavilion or need information concerning rentals and permits, please call (561) 243-7250.

There are also two surf chairs for handicapped persons allowing for mobility on the sand. They are available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Swimming Conditions

Atlantic Dunes Park features a large scenic beach on the Atlantic shore. It rarely gets crowded. Due to daily cleaning efforts, the beach is very clean and there is plenty of space to choose a relaxation spot. You can rent chairs and umbrellas on site.

The ocean is spectacular! There can be seaweed in the water but overall, swimming is enjoyable. The beach is supervised by professional lifeguards from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. ensuring a safer swimming experience for you and your children.

Nature

There is a nature trail where you can stroll and look for various bird species. You will find many shady spots to have a break from the sun and enjoy nature. If you are interested in birdwatching, you should also look for birds near the beach entrance and on the shore.
