Located in the North Beach area of Miami Beach, Allison Park is a well-maintained beachfront green space with sea turtle sculptures, leisure grassed area, fitness area, amenities, dog area, and a stretch of spectacular sandy beach with lifeguards on duty.
This spot is great for walking, jogging, biking, skating, exercising, picnicking, enjoying the views, sunbathing, and swimming. Very clean and family-friendly.
Location and Access
You can find Allison Park at 6575 Collins Avenue, which is in the North Beach area of Miami Beach. It is open from sunrise to sundown from Monday to Sunday. The park is public and features no entrance fee.
There is a metered public parking lot. The parking fee is lower than in many other places. On weekends and holidays, it is better to get there before noon if you want to get a parking space. The park is ADA accessible.
Amenities, Eateries, and Shops
The park has public restrooms, which are located near the parking lot. There are also water fountains for drinking water and outdoor showers to help you get rid of the sand after the beach activities. If you bring some snacks and drinks, there is plenty of room for picnicking and even a table with benches. Eateries and shops are very close.
If you have children, they will be fond of the various play installations in the park, which include slides, panels, swings, shaded canopies, etc. They are intended for 5 to 12-year-old children and include ADA accessible play components.
Sports enthusiasts will be glad to discover the park’s fitness area offering a number of exercise units such as a cardio stepper, balance steps, hand cycler, elliptical, assisted push up, assisted row, and Tai Chi wheels (for ages 12 and older). There is also a wide walkway for those who prefer biking, skating, or jogging.
The beach is just a few steps away. It looks picture-postcard – fine white sand and crystal clear blue and green water. Splendid! However, like all the other Miami beaches, this one sometimes gets covered in seaweed so be prepared for that possibility. Otherwise, swimming is enjoyable and safe – there are lifeguards on duty.
Good news for dog owners – the park has a designated dog area so you can take your four-legged friend with you!
