West Lake Beach is a privately owned family-oriented park in beautiful West Lake Hills on Lake Austin. It’s a nice and quiet lakeside recreational area with restroom facilities, picnic tables, BBQ pits, plenty of shaded areas, and a volleyball court. You can rent a covered area in the park for your private event.
Access and Parking
West Lake Beach is open to the public. The entrance fee is $8 for adults (ages 12 and up) and $5 for children, which is rather high in comparison to the entrance fee to a state park ($10 per vehicle). The business hours are fixed for Saturdays and Sundays (10 a. m. to 7 p. m. and 11 a. m. to 7 p. m. correspondingly). On weekdays, the park is open by special arrangement. Moreover, it’s often closed for private events so it’s better to call the park office before planning a visit.
West Lake Beach has a roped-off swimming area on Lake Austin. The water depth varies from eight inches to six feet and there are no lifeguards, so you must properly supervise your children if you bring them to the beach.
It’s a good place for a picnic – there are numerous covered picnic tables and barbecue grills throughout the park. Bring some food and drinks for a family lunch in scenic natural surroundings! There is a dedicated area for fishing, you just need to bring your own fishing rods and bait. If you’re a sports enthusiast, you can make use of a volleyball court or a volleyball net set up in the water.
Safe and Quiet
West Lake Beach is a family-friendly park offering a quiet and convenient natural setting, where pets, glass bottles, and loud sounds are prohibited. It’s a place for safe and comfortable outdoor recreation where you’re unlikely to be disturbed by other visitors.
The park offers various covered areas and pavilions for rent. The minimum cost to reserve a spot for a company of about 12 people is $100. The park’s newest addition “Stanley’s Pavilion” can accommodate approximately 75 guests and its minimum price is $800. There are soft drinks available on site. You can bring your own alcohol but only in cans or kegs (glass isn’t allowed). No loud sounds are permitted in order not to disturb the other guests.
