Location and Access
You can find South Beach at Ocean Drive in Miami Beach. The entrance is free. Since the place is extremely popular, it’s often overcrowded and parking can be challenging – sometimes it is easier to go by taxi. If you go by car and don’t mind walking, you can use one of the municipal parking lots, which are much cheaper than street parking. And if you’re looking for more tranquility, enter the beach below 20th Street and go north.

Sand and Water
The beach is very well maintained and most of its areas are clean. The clear turquoise water is warm enough throughout the whole year, but the best time to swim is between April and October. When going into the water, there is a gradual slope and shallow area enough for kids and weak swimmers to enjoy. You can feel quite safe – there are professional lifeguards on duty.

South Beach is one of the best places for people-watching in Miami. Here, you can see celebrities, models, and just beautiful people in skimpy swim attire from all over the world. South Beach is very bicycle-friendly, there is a bike trail running around the beach perimeter and bike rental network with many spots to rent and drop off bikes.
