About this beach

Warnings and hazards

From August 2019 to April 2020, there will be no lifeguards on duty – swim at your own risk.

Pets are not allowed (only service animals).

Apart from swimming and sunbathing at the world’s largest manmade, white-sand beach, Robin Lake offers a whole variety of outdoor activities including wakeboarding, tubing, waterskiing, canoeing, kayaking, paddleboating, biking, hiking, and picnicking. The park also hosts various special events throughout the year, like the Birds of Prey Show in summer or Fantasy of Lights in winter.

Location and Access

Robin Lake Beach is just 45 minutes north of Columbus and 60 miles away from Atlanta. The nearest Interstate Highways are 185 and 85. The beach is open daily from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend.

The entrance fee is $20 for adults (13 and older), $15 for seniors (65 and older), $10 for children (from 6 to 12). Children of 5 years old and younger can enter for free. There are also additional fees for special events when big crowds flock to the park. There is free parking available.

Facilities

The park has all the necessary amenities. There are public restrooms, a children’s playground, giant chess and checker sets, shuffleboard, table tennis, and miniature golf. There is Wi-Fi access at Beach Pavilion. You can also buy food and ice-cream on site. If you want to have a full meal – there is a restaurant.

Swimming Conditions

The one-mile long beach consists of white sand and is quite clean. There are beach bikes for rent. The water has a green tint but it is mostly clear. There are some sharp rocks by the dock so you should be careful – water shoes may be a good idea.

In general, the lake has both deep and shallow areas, making it a nice swimming spot for good as well as weak swimmers. However, lately, they have introduced a swim line limiting access to the deeper areas.

Please note that from August 2019 until April 2020 there will be no lifeguards on duty – so swim at your own risk.

Other Activities

There are trails running all the way around the lake and through the woods where you can just stroll and relax. A beautiful and very peaceful place. For watersport enthusiasts, there is a nice opportunity to rent various watersport equipment on-site.
