Almost 30 miles of sugary white sand, palm trees, a relaxing atmosphere, and friendly families everywhere - these are my memories of Biloxi West Central Beach located within a quick one-hour drive from NOLA.
As said, the beach is extremely long but pretty narrow. It’s not a dog beach but you can stroll with your pet, no problem. Bonfires are allowed. The place is family-friendly - the waters are shallow, and plenty of family activities are available. You can rent umbrellas, covered sunbeds, jet ski, and water trikes.
The beach is kept clean by the city, however the water’s smell, its murkiness and brownish color kept us away from getting our feet wet. If you do want to take a swim I’d recommend a nearby rooftop pool with cabanas available for rent. A large selection of restaurants and a casino nearby (east end of the beach) in case you get really bored. Public bathrooms are available in the nearby buildings.
The place can be crowded during public holidays and since there aren’t a lot of parking spots nearby I’d recommend early arrival.
