Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park is a popular recreational destination with one of the most pristine tropical beaches in the world. With its expansive soothing views of the Gulf of Mexico, interesting wildlife, and numerous well-maintained tourist facilities, it offers a beautiful and family-friendly nature setting for a beach holiday all year round.

In this park, visitors enjoy various outdoor activities including swimming, sunbathing, shelling, picnicking, hiking, wildlife watching, boating, paddleboarding, canoeing, kayaking, and fishing.

Location and Access

Located at 1135 Gulfshore Drive in Naples, Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park is open for visitors from 8 a. m. to sunset all year round. The entrance fee is $6 per car with up to 8 people, $4 per single-occupant car, and $2 per pedestrian/bicyclist/extra passenger. There is a spacious parking lot available. You can also use the boat ramp for $5 plus tax.

Park Amenities

Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park has all the necessary tourist amenities, including those accessible for handicapped visitors. There are restrooms, shower stations, water fountains, benches, picnic areas with tables and grills, and food concessions available.

Beach Area

The beach in Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park is one of those paradise-like places with powdery white sand and inviting blue-and-emerald waters. The sand is fine and soft but with plenty of shells, which makes it somewhat difficult to walk barefoot.

Most of the time, the water is clear and beautiful. In the winter months, its temperature decreases but many visitors still enjoying swimming in (quite refreshing!). Due to the abundance of shells, water shoes are highly recommended.

Rental Services

In parking lot #4, there is a concession selling food and beverages and offering kayak, paddleboard, canoe, umbrella, and beach chair rentals. The park also offers beach wheelchairs. If you’re planning a special event, like a birthday party or a wedding ceremony, you can rent a pavilion.

Wildlife Watching

During the turtle season, you can see fenced in and protected turtle nests on the beach. There is a variety of seabirds to watch. Most of the time, it’s also easy to spot dolphins playing in the water.

Other Activities

There are designated areas for fishing in the northern section of the park. There is a boat launch area accessible for vessels of various sizes. Boaters like to explore the estuaries of the nearby Cocohatchee River, flowing into the Gulf of Mexico. Regular guided tours are offered.

If you enjoy physical activities, there are hike and bike nature trails, running through mangrove forests and sea grape trees. Water sports, scuba diving, and snorkeling are other popular activities in Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park.
